Through his books, articles, workshops and his coaching with senior teams, Dr. O’Brien helps executives and their teams break through to new ways of thinking that evidence shows result in improvements in operations, financial results, and clinical performance.

Michael has written two books, Quicksilver: A Revolutionary Way to Lead the Many and the Few – Beginning with YOU (Sombrero Press, 2010) and Profit From Experience: A guide to knowing yourself and influencing others (Berkley, 1998; O’Brien Group, 2003). His articles have appeared in Trustee, Health Pulse, Healthcare Executive, Healthcare Financial Management and Health Leaders.
His clients include Catholic Healthcare Partners, Mercy Health Partners, Mayo Clinic, Mayfield Clinic and St. Thomas Health Care as well as Fortune 500 companies such as NYNEX, Bayer Consumer Care, AT&T and Xerox to name a few.
Michael holds a master’s degree in education and a doctorate in corporate training and human resources development, with an emphasis in cognitive psychology, from the University of Cincinnati. An avid reader and runner, Michael and his wife have two grown children and live in Cincinnati, Ohio.
