Bill Merriam has spent thirty years as an executive in the television/cable industry, leading and managing visionary corporate teams through an era of booming global expansion.
Bill played a pivotal role in the building of Turner Broadcasting System in Atlanta from a local UHF television station in the 1970′s to a multi-billion dollar entity of worldwide programming and information networks. Bill’s ability to develop his people and quickly form high performance management teams was key to transforming TBS into the internationally known industry leader it is today.

As Corporate Vice President of Facilities Planning, Bill was accountable for the design and building of the ever expanding domestic and international operational facilities for the Turner empire. As Executive Vice President of Operations for the Turner Entertainment Group, Bill was the senior executive in charge of design, building and management of operations for TBS SuperStation, Turner Network Television, TBS Production, SportsSouth, TNT Latin America, World Championship Wrestling, and Turner Classic Movies.
In 1993, Bill formed a consulting practice to help other executives and industry leaders develop themselves and grow their businesses. His work focuses on executive team development and individual coaching to improve executives’ personal effectiveness. In 1996, Bill began an on-going association with Dr. Michael O’Brien and O’Brien Group. Clients have included Catholic Health Care Partners, Alcon Surgical, Turner Broadcasting System, Miller-Valentine Group, Software AG, Allercare Laboratories, Emory University Center for Ethics, BMHC, Convergys and Broadwing.
Bill served as President/Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors for the National Captioning Institute during 1998-1999. He led the non-profit organization through its transition to a profit oriented enterprise. Bill holds a Bachelor of Business Administration/Industrial Management degree from Southern Methodist University.
Bill and his wife, Gail, live near Washington, DC, with their two youngest children. Bill is the father of six and grandfather of ten children.
